We have our bags packed and are ready for our trip to begin! We did a lot of research and reading to decide what gear would be the best for us and the type of trip we’re doing. Here are a few pictures of what we’re taking with us:
Kathy’s Gear
Phil’s Gear
We kept our wardrobe to a minimum to save on weight. We each have about 5 different outfits, so you’ll be seeing lots of photos of us with the same clothing! We also packed some essential items like first aid kit, water filtration equipment, camera, phone, hiking boots, toiletry kit, pocketknife, rope, headlamp, a kindle for reading, and a few other miscellaneous items. The website outdoorgearlab.com was very useful for us to help decide on the most appropriate gear to take. Thanks Daniel Green for the tip!
These hiking backpacks are going to be quite the lifesaver for us as we walk around towns and villages, hike in the mountains, and occasionally run to catch our transportation.
Kathy’s pack weighs about 23 pounds and Phil’s is about 32. Kathy is quite the light packer! Or maybe Phil is carrying most of the shared equipment 🙂
